Carly, Vicky, and Paige had a great day presenting their posters at the AUCVM Phi Zeta Research Day!

Rachel was recently awarded “Top Review Article of the Year” by Biology of Reproduction at the 57th Annual Meeting of the Society for the Study of Reproduction in Dublin, Ireland. The review titled “Sex differences in innate and adaptive immunity impact fetal, placental, and maternal health” was the most cited review article and one of the most read articles of the year. Rachel received her award at the conference’s opening ceremony where she gave a lecture describing the major points of the paper.

Vicky gave her first conference talk at the Southeastern Regional Virology Conference!

Had a great time at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine conference in Anaheim. Saw some great talks, met up with old friends/collaborators, and was presented with the Ky Cha Award for Stem Cell Technology!

The West Lab has secured its second award through Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s Animal Health and Disease Research Program! We will use this award to study the sex-specific differences between male and female placental stem cells exposed to immune stimulating agents!

The West Lab has gotten its first extramural funding! Thank you to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Asia Pacific Biomedical Research Foundation!

Rachel presented her research on how a lentiviral shRNA knockdown of ERVW-1 affects trophoblast stem cell dynamics at SSR 2021. Her abstract was selected for the poster competition!
